Local community

Local business networking day

A very interesting networking session this week at the Business and Technology Centre (BTC) in Stevenage, meeting with local business owners and hearing about their experience and the range of resources – some free! – available. Such a wide range of people, service offerings and a palpable sense of pride and confidence in their work from all. Very inspiring!

(Not showing the inside of the meeting for data protection reasons – not because there was anything untoward going on!) I can report there was lunch, biscuits and lots of daffodils!

We heard from the BTC itself about its offering and facilities. Also from a variety of other speakers, including an accountancy firm who is based at the centre, from Wenta – who provide the aforementioned free advice – and to whom at Higher-ED we are most grateful. The Hertfordshire Growth Hub explained their remit, also a telephony service called Eve explained how they can deliver a seamless technology solution integrated with Microsoft Teams. Then local businesses gave a snapshot of what they did in an Open Mic event, and then tucked into M&S sandwiches and other goodies. A good day!

While at Higher-ED we’re a UK-wide, mainly digital, business we are proud of our links to our local community and definitely encourage both: a) people to check out our website and b) people to look at those of Business and Technology Centre and https://wenta.co.uk,
